The tapered Fissure Bur #700 (699, 700, 701, 701L, 702) is an all-purpose bur that can be used to section teeth, gain endodontic access and is also useful as a general purpose bur. Tapered means the cutting diameter tapers towards the end of the bur and fissure means the bur can drill holes at its tip, as well as section teeth along its side. The smaller the number, the smaller the diameter of the bur. In this case, 700 will leave a small to medium-sized cutting gap. FG stands for friction grip which is used for push button handpieces and 19 mm is the length of the bur.
