The Round Tip Bur #8 is used for most large canines where access is not difficult. FG stands for friction grip and can only be used with push button handpieces. Round burs are useful for creating access holes, removing buccal bone, creating a moat around root fragments and smoothing alveolar bone. They are available in 19 mm and 25 mm (surgical) lengths. Sizes range from 1/4 to #10. The most commonly recommended round burs for veterinary dentistry are the 1/4 and 1/2 for felines and the #2 and #4 for canines.
